Some people assume that in my new #JungleBoy music

Some people assume that in my new #JungleBoy music video, my ‘hurt hand’ is Hollywood-style makeup. Truth is, I really did contract a flesh-eating jungle parasite and it was too much to hide from video, so I made it part of the video instead.
For 8 long months, I had 14 spots on my body where my flesh was being eaten day-in, day-out. My skin; muscles; nerves… Microscopic parasitic beings became part of my system, spreading themselves through my lymphatic system.
In the Talamanca mountains, the local Bribi tribe calls the scars that Papalamoyo / Leishmaniasis leaves behind ‘The mark of the jungle’; as mainly those living life deep in the jungle tend to get them. They view it as an indication that the wearer is an initiate of the jungle. Thankfully I’m healed now, and so is my family. Thank you once more to all the beautiful people who helped us through this rough period!! ❤️🙏🏻

Thankfully, we have something beautiful to show for it. Like all true artists do, the pain and suffering has been transmuted into art! 🎥🖼️
